Location & Route

Seligstadt / Seliștat (Rom.) is located in the southern part of Transylvania, in the heart of the Harbach-Highlands. This region is assigned to the “Natura 2000” Protective Area due to its ethnic flora and fauna.

Seligstadt is best reached from Fogarasch / Făgăraş. It’s a 30 km drive towards north, over Bekokten/ Bărcut. If you come that way, the guesthouses are on the right side of the road, directly beside the church-fortress. You can also reach Seligstadt from Schäßburg / Sighișoara (45 km); in Henndorf / Brădeni you have to turn in the direction of Retersorf / Retiş. You have to schedule extra time for both travel alternatives, the roads are partially in need of repair – good dampers are advisable. And be careful: there are sheep, goats and donkeys on the road!

The parsonage in Fogarasch offers a transport service to those who want to take the journey from Fogarasch to Seligstadt. Timely request is asked for.

For German guests: The closest airport is in Hermannstadt / Sibiu. There are direct connections from Berlin, Düsseldorf, Munich, Frankfurt, Dortmund, Nueremberg and Vienna all over the year, with Lufthansa (www.lufthansa.com), Austrian Airlines (www.aua.com), Wizz Air (www.wizzair.com) and Tarom (www.tarom.ro). It is a 90 to 120 Minute journey from Hermannstadt to Fogarasch by train (www.cfrcalatori.ro).
